This set consists of five masks. Each mask is mounted on the front of the matte box and covers one of five focal length ranges. The mask is essentially a solid, light-blocking piece with a window that corresponds to the field of view of the lens. It has a matte finish on the camera side to prevent internal reflections. On the outside, it has an ultra-matte coating to minimize reflections on the mask itself. This prevents unwanted stray light from entering the matte box.
